You Can't Be *Everything* For Everybody

Writer's picture: Tanya KostetskyTanya Kostetsky

There's a ✨fundamental rule✨ in marketing that takes a little discipline but is undeniably true: You can't be everything for everybody.

Creating a marketing strategy that serves all consumers is impossible. The human race is so *very* diverse! The truth is that you cannot please everyone all the time, and you cannot offer anything that everyone would want at all times.

TL;DR If you try to sell to everyone, you'll end up selling to no one 🙅🏽‍♀️

By understanding your target market, you can identify the best advertising platforms, products, and messages to attract prospects.

It might seem counterintuitive , but you'll be wayyyyy better off appealing to a small group of loyal customers than trying to attract literally everyone at the same time.

+ with 68%* of consumers expecting ALL experiences to be personalized it goes without saying: generic is so OUT!
